Sailing Locations

General Information

Our operation of the Why Buy Club at each of these marinas, is a privilege provided to us by the ownership of each marina.  We often operate in competition to their own rental fleets.  Any member not treating the marina staff members with the utmost respect will be removed from the club.  Marina staff know nothing about the program and will not be able to answer any questions.

Each marina does however have a credit card on file for the purchase of gas & oil.  If the person running the pump, soes not know about it, please pay for the fuel and the Victoria Sailing School will repay the charges.

Chatfield Reservoir

Directions from East Denver or Colorado Springs: The South (back) entrance to Chatfield is only about ½ mile to the marina, so this is the best entrance if you are coming from the east or south.  Take I-470 to the Santa Fe (Hwy 85) intersection, turn south to Titan road (if you are coming from south of Castle Rock, take Hwy 85 north at Castle Rock).  Turn west on Titan Rd. to N. Roxborough Park Rd.  Turn North (right), taking N. Roxborough Park Rd into the park.  This entrance only has one entrance gate, so it can get backed up if you are coming to a 1:00 p.m. class.

Directions from west Denver: Take I-470 to the Wadsworth exit. Turn South on Wadsworth to the entrance to the park. The marina is on the extreme south end of the reservoir, so allow 10 minutes to get to the marina after you get to the park entrance.

The gates can back up with people buying day passes, so if you are attending an afternoon class be sure to add extra time to check through the gates.

You will need a state park pass for entrance to the park. The boats are located to the right of the marina office, on the courtesy dock.

Cherry Creek Marina

Directions : Take I-25 to the exit for I-225 down by the tech center. As you are turning on to I-225, not even on I-225 yet take the Tamerak/Yosemite exit. At the first light, turn south (right), at the first light turn East (left) on to Union. Stay on Union past Yosemite, passing Cherry Creek High School on the right. Just past the high school on the right you will see the enterance to Cherry Creek Reservoir.

You will need a state park pass for entrance to the park. You can park at the high school or surrounding area and walk down to the marina. The boats are located either at the marina office or to the north of the marina office.

Lake Carter

Directions : Take I-25 North from Denver (South from Ft. Collins) to the Berthoud exit. Turn West and go throught the town of Berthoud. About 1 mile West of the town the hwy will take a turn to the left. You will want to continue straight on hwy 50. Stay on hwy 50 until you see the sign for Carter lake to the left.

You will need a Larimer parks pass to get into the park.

Lake Dillon

Directions : Take I-70 to the Dillon exit. At the light at the bottom of the exit turn South (left) and go about 1/2 mile. At the light turn right and got to the lake. At the "T", turn left and follow to the parking area for the marina. The boats are on Dock ?D?.  There is a realtors lockbox on the gate at the entrance to the dock.  The combination is the same as the boat.

Please do not bother the Marina staff with any questions about the program, it is not their responsibility and they will not have any answers.
