This course is designed for those who have very little or no previous sailing experience. The course is 12 hours in length consisting of 1 three hour Theory Session and 3 three hour Practical Sessions on the water.
NOTE: If you already know how to Head Up, Bear Away, tack and Gybe, you may not need to take this course.
Terms and Definitions, Gear and Equipment, Safety, Rules of the Road, Required Lights and Hypothermia.
Boarding and Rigging, Basic Knots, Boat Handling Under Sail, Commands and Responses, Heading Up, Tacking, Bearing Away and Gybing, Making Fast and Snugging Down.
