This is not your regular sailing course. This year we will be entering our J/30 into the CSYC's Governor's Cup held at Chatfield October 14-15. This is your chance to learn from our instructors the ins and outs of racing, while actually racing! Our J/30 will have a 2 instructors and 4 students aboard. The instructors will be involved in the racing throughout the regatta and not standing at the back of the boat like they usually would. This way we can be competitive on the lake.
Prerequisites:
Students must have at minimum ASA103 and at least a year of sailing experience (Why Buy Club, or chartering).
Upon Completion:
Upon completion, students will be able to fly spinnakers on our J/22's and have the skills and knowledge to join local racing clubs and continue racing!
Dates:
The 2023 Governor's Cup is being held October 14-15. We will plan to have 2 practice sessions (3 hours each), with you instructor prior to the event. These dates and time will be chosen by your team. The theory class will also be available online.
Included:
- Access to online theory available on demand, for 3 years.

A full weekend of racing, at the Governor's Cup Regatta at Chatfield. This will be Saturday and Sunday ALL DAY.

Access to spinnakers after completion of the class (for Why Buy Members at Chatfield).
- 2 three hour sessions to get used to flying the spinnaker and racing with your team.
